About Me

My glass journey started in January, 2012 under the wing of Lance McRorie, the founder and owner of FlameTree Glass in Historic Roswell, Georgia. After taking the beginner 101 class at FlameTree, I was instantly hooked. For the next 6 months I took every class possible and used the days there weren’t any classes to just practice more on the torches they had in their studio. After waiting for 3 months, my own first torch finally arrived and I could now practice even more. My parents have always been extremely supportive in all of my endeavors in life and were gracious enough to help me build my first studio in their garage. I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for their unbelievable support from the start.

After about a year of trying to learn hollow shaping alone in the garage and realizing there wasn’t a big community of glass artists in my area, I felt it necessary to make a move. Flashforward to March 2014 and I was lucky enough to be living in Colorado with a friend who had left Georgia the year earlier. It was then I moved into my very first studio in Colorado with two very talented and kind artists, JDZ Glass and Liquid Fire Glass, from whom I learned a ton and was incredibly inspired by. Unfortunately that studio space didn’t stay open too long and in March of 2015 I found myself in the mountains of Golden, Colorado working out of the home studio of another talented and gracious artist, Trikky Glass.

A short time later a local friend, Goats Glass, told me about a new studio space he had found and was going to be renting. He had needed some help moving equipment and I was looking for a closer studio space so I decided to give it a look. It was a very large, open shop only 20 minutes from where I was living which was perfect. A month or two later, most of my friends had moved into the shop and we were all having the time of our lives.

I’ve been working out of the Mean Skreenz studio in Englewood, Colorado since May, 2015. Seen this studio grow over the years from just a small group of friends to over 20 individual artists all working under one roof. It’s been quite the journey so far and I’m excited to see what the future has in store. Thanks for coming along for the ride!
